- Amateurs Only: The competition is open to amateurs only, an amateur meaning one who does not derive income as a performer or teacher in the particular area in which they have entered.
- Age Limit: All competitors must be under the age of 26 on the 19th of August 2024.
- Definition of Novice: A student who has not yet reached preliminary level.
