Iwona Staniszewska began her early music career as a pianist, inspired by her multi-instrumental father and grandfather. She gave her first public piano performance at the Concert Hall in Krakow (Poland) at the age of 5. From what she can remember, adjusting the piano chair took much longer than the performance itself.

After graduating with distinction from Academy of Music in Krakow where she studied piano, organ and harpsichord, Iwona attended many Master Classes given by world famous musicians, such as Martha Argerich, Krystian Zimerman, Ivo Pogorelic, Marie Clair Alain and Ton Koopman.

She has also participated in several Polish and international music competitions and was awarded honour certificates for her interpretation of baroque, romantic and modern music.

Iwona had given many public performances of piano, organ and chamber music in various towns in Europe, Republic of South Africa and Australia.

For the last 30 years Iwona has been working as a teacher in various schools, currently teaching piano at St.Hilda’s Anglican School for girls and at her private music studio.
